Parent Governors

Mrs Gina Yoxall, Parent Governor

Having lived in Usk area all my life, I am very keen to support the children and staff at the local school in any way I can. I have two children, one currently in Year 2 and the other in Year 1.

For the past fourteen years I have worked as a primary school teacher. Within my role, I have been a moderator of Key Stage 1 results for Gloucestershire Local Authority supporting local primary schools in their assessment process and have been fortunate to visit schools in Italy and Finland to look at different styles of teaching and learning. Two years ago, I took over a local Nursery which has given me an insight into running a business as well as providing me with the fantastic opportunity to get to know children from the local community and help them develop both socially and academically.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, walking our dog and the occasional trip to the cinema.

Mrs Georgina Bunning, Parent Governor

Mrs Michelle Alford, Parent Governor

Mr Tim Keenan, Parent Governor

I would first like to thank all those who voted for me as parent governor. It is a great pleasure to be able to be involved directly with such a dedicated team.

I moved to Usk in 2008 with my wife and three children Flynn, Amy and Matthew. We very soon became involved in school activity and started our community life chairing the PTFA at Usk church in Wales Primary School. The support that the community gave to us was heartfelt and we quickly became aware that Usk is such a wonderful place for young people to learn and develop. I have served on the Town Council for four years, with this my fifth term, being elected as Mayor.

Whilst Flynn and Amy are no longer in mainstream schooling, Matthew is in year five and we watch in awe as he goes from strength to strength.

I work for Network rail as a Construction manager delivering the safe renewal of major assets on the rail infrastructure on the Great Western Route. My work is varied and takes me from Paddington Station to the tip of Cornwall and to various sites in Wales.

I am hoping that I will be able to bring some of my skills in different areas to the governing body and very much look forward to the challenges ahead in maintaining such a fantastic place of learning.
