We are delighted to welcome you to our school, a school that offers a community-wide sense of belonging, togetherness and ‘family’. There is something very special about Usk Church in Wales Primary and we are incredibly proud of our unique children, supportive parents, inspirational staff, forward thinking governors and dedicated PTFA, where we all work in collaboration to make Usk a safe, happy and vibrant place to learn and thrive.

Our school motto is Believe, Achieve, Succeed and is at the heart of everything we do.

We have high expectations of ourselves and our children: the challenges that we set show them that we believe they can achieve them, instilling the confidence and ambition to do so. We place great importance in kindness and respect being mutual, both within our school community and the world around us.

Together, we work in partnership with parents and carers to ensure our pupils gain values, knowledge, skills and attitudes that will help them become resilient, motivated life-long learners and responsible citizens of the future.

At Usk Primary we believe it is important to help our children develop values that can guide them throughout their lives. As a Church in Wales school, we have 12 distinctive Christian values that inspire and support our daily life. They are: Perseverance, Responsibility, Trust, Truthfulness, Thankfulness, Humility, Forgiveness, Respect, Peace, Compassion, Courage and Justice. Every day, across our enriched curriculum, we explore the meaning of these values and their significance in the Christian faith. We use them to foster the children’s sense of belonging, pride, service and understanding of right and wrong. Ultimately, they encourage the children to live safe, happy, productive and fulfilling lives, both inside and outside of school.

There is a tangible buzz of positivity at Usk, which emanates from children, teachers and parents alike and it is not just the school community that’s impressive here but also the experiences that our children will take away with them. We have a great deal of fun in our learning, whether in the classroom or playground, on the sports field, during one of our educational visits or themed learning days.
