Welcome to our NEW school website!
At Usk Primary School, our School Parliament helps us to think about how we can help not just ourselves and our community but also the whole world. We use the UNCRC to help us think about how we can make the world a fairer, safer and better place for all of God's creations. The goal of the ‘Parliament' is to improve our school, community and the world.
Our school is a place where everyone feels welcomed, understood, and valued. It is a cheerful and inclusive environment where we support and look after one another. Our School Parliament, elected by their peers, plays a vital role in making this vision a reality. Through their voice and choice, they continually work to improve our school, community, and the wider world, ensuring that everyone enjoys a true sense of belonging.
The School Parliament meets once every half-term to discuss and make improvements. A different person takes notes each time, which will then be shared with everybody. Members of the School Parliament will be responsible for carrying out the ideas that have been agreed.
Being a school parliamentarian is a really responsible job.
The School Parliament’s job is to involve everyone, not to do everything. Everybody needs to help by:
Understanding our purpose for improvement - the WHY?
Finding the things that need to change - the WHAT?
Finding ways to make things better - the HOW?
Putting ideas into actions, including - the WHEN?
