Welcome to our NEW school website!
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are delighted to share the findings of our 2018 Estyn inspection report, which celebrates the strengths of Usk Church in Wales Primary School and recognises our commitment to providing high-quality education. The inspectors highlighted our pupils’ enthusiasm for learning, their strong progress in literacy, numeracy, and digital competence, and the way our imaginative curriculum engages and inspires them. Our beautiful, well-resourced outdoor spaces, creative teaching approaches, and caring ethos were all noted as key features of our school’s success.
Inspectors praised our effective leadership, rigorous self-evaluation and clear track record of improvement, as well as the dedication of our teachers and leaders, our culture of collaboration, and the high standards we maintain across all areas of school life. We are particularly proud of the recognition of our strong community links, inclusive values, and focus on pupils’ wellbeing and confidence.
As a school, we remain committed to continual improvement as a learning organisation. The recommendations from the report – such as further developing independent learning skills and improving handwriting and spelling in Key Stage 2 – have already taken shape following the inspection. Setting goals ensures that we continue to grow, innovate, and offer the very best opportunities for our children.
We warmly invite you to read the full Estyn report, which is both a celebration of our achievements and a roadmap for our future development. Your ongoing support and partnership are central to making Usk CiW Primary School a thriving and inspiring place to learn.
Together, we are shaping a bright future for every child.
