School Uniform Update June 2020
Wearing the correct school uniform is important, it helps the children to feel part of the school community and teaches them to take pride in their appearance.
The COVID-19 crisis has highlighted the need for us to review the appropriateness of the school uniform policy not only the duration of this summer term but also from September 2020.
Summer Term Uniform Policy
It is important that children wear something that is comfortable, weather appropriate and easily washable.
Therefore, children do not need to wear school uniform but are to wear clean, suitable, comfortable clothes and shoes.
No open toe sandals please, as these present a health and safety risk.
The children should also not wear jewellery, as this can also be dangerous when participating in physical and outdoor activities.
We do however suggest that all clothes are washed following a day in school.
September 2020 Uniform Policy
We do not yet know what the pattern of schooling will be for September, be it on a full time or part time basis the Governing Body of the school have agreed to suspend the current uniform policy for the academic year 2020-21. However, all children will be asked to come to school wearing the school PE kit on a daily basis.
- Navy sweatshirt
- Plain white t-shirt.
- Plain navy jogger bottoms and/or navy shorts
- A pair of daps or trainers
- Navy or white socks
Non logo items can be purchased from any stores.
We believe this to be a more cost effective way to supply clean clothes each day and ensure that children are suitably dressed for learning both inside and outside.
Having the logo added to clothing in 2020-21 is not compulsory but should you choose to, details of where to buy can be found below.
Outdoor waterproofs and wellington boots for all children would also be a useful addition. These do not need to be in the school colours.
We still ask that you please label all items to ensure lost items are returned to your child.
We also ask children with long hair keep it tied back or up with suitable fastenings of school colours whilst in school. This is in the interest of health and safety. Children should wear plain headbands and not headbands such as unicorns, cat-ears etc.
