Mrs Michelle Allford, Vice Chair of Governors
I am married to Barry and we have one daughter, Arianne, who is currently in year three. I was born and brought up in Usk and now continue to live in Usk. I was one of the first pupils to attend Usk Church in Wales school when it opened in 1985.
I have worked within the Criminal Justice system for over 20 years and am currently a Team Manager in Wales Community Rehabilitation Company. I also have a knowledge and skill base working with individuals with learning disabilities and adult education. A significant part of my working life has had focus on both children and adult safeguarding.
I was elected as a parent governor in October 2014, and took on the role of safeguarding governor. In December 2017, I was nominated and elected into the role of Vice Chair.
I endeavour to support the school in anyway I can whether by using my knowledge and skills to support the role of critical friend or by attending school events and class assemblies.
I continue to be very passionate about the school and am committed to contributing to the school to ensure that it remains a wonderful safe place for both children and staff to learn and develop.
